Diagnostic Test

- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the appropriate INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK WIRING BETWEEN OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC) AND GLOBAL TELEMATICS BOX MODULE (TBM2)
- Disconnect the connectors of the ORC and of the TBM2. Check the connector status and ensure that the terminals are not damaged, deformed, corroded or disconnected.
Are the connectors intact?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair or replace the damaged connector. End of diagnosis.
- Disconnect the connectors of the ORC and of the TBM2. Check the connector status and ensure that the terminals are not damaged, deformed, corroded or disconnected.
- CHECK THE ORC WIRING
- Check for open circuit or short circuit on CAN C line wiring between ORC and TBM2.
Is there an open circuit or short circuit?
Yes
- Remove the open circuit or short circuit on the wiring. End of diagnosis.
No
- Go To 4
- Check for open circuit or short circuit on CAN C line wiring between ORC and TBM2.
- CHECK THE ORC POWER SUPPLY
- Check that the power supply for the ORC is correct.
Is the power supply not correct?
Yes
- Restore correct power supply. End of diagnosis.
No
- Go To 5
- Check that the power supply for the ORC is correct.
- CHECK USING DIAGNOSIS EQUIPMENT
- Connect the diagnostic tool to the TBM2 and update the software if a new version is available. Check whether the error is still present.
Is the error still present?
Yes
- Go To 6
No
- End of diagnosis.
- Connect the diagnostic tool to the TBM2 and update the software if a new version is available. Check whether the error is still present.
- CHECK THE ORC
- Check that the ORC works properly.
Is the ORC working correctly?
Yes
- Go To 7
No
- Replace the ORC in accordance with the Service information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL (ORC), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check that the ORC works properly.
- CHECK THE TBM2
- Check correct operation of the TBM2.
Is the TBM2 operating correctly?
Yes
- End of diagnosis.
No
- Replace the TBM2 in accordance with the Service information. Refer to MODULE, GLOBAL TELEMATICS BOX, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check correct operation of the TBM2.
