Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS 
    1. With the scan tool, read Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.

      Are there any BCM DTCs also present?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  2
  2. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. With the scan tool, read Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) DTCs and record on the repair order.
    2. Record the DTC Environmental Data.
    3. With the scan tool, erase IPC DTCs.
    4. Turn the ignition off.
    5. Turn the ignition on.
    6. With the scan tool, read IPC DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

  3. CHECK THE SPEED CONTROL SWITCH WIRING AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Speed Control Switch harness connector.
    3. Inspect the Speed Control Switch pins, terminals, and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits and repair as necessary.
    4. Connect the Speed Control Switch harness connector.
    5. With the scan tool, erase IPC DTCs.
    6. Turn the ignition off.
    7. Turn the ignition on.
    8. With the scan tool, read IPC DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Replace the Speed Control Switch in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No
