Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. If removed, install the PTU actuator and tighten the fasteners securely.

  2. Install the PTU (1a) with a NEW  O-ring and tighten the fasteners (1b) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  3. Install the intake manifold support bracket stud (1) into the intake manifold.

  4. Install the PTU support bracket (1a) and fasteners (1b and 1c). Tighten the fasteners to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the intake manifold support bracket and tighten the fasteners securely.
  6. Connect the wire harness connector to the PTU actuator.
  7. Install the front suspension crossmember. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, FRONT SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Install the right front halfshaft. Refer to FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION and REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  9. Verify that the PTU and transmission are filled to the specified fluid level. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
  10. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
  12. When installing a NEW  (PTU), connect the diagnostic scan tool, enter "miscellaneous functions" of the DriveTrain Control Module (DTCM) and run the self-learning procedure for the PTU.
