Positive Cable: Removal

- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Be certain that all electrical accessories are turned off.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the battery. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the positive battery cable (1b) to Battery Distribution Unit (BDU) mounting nut (1a).
- Disengage the positive battery cable (2) retainers.
- Remove the protective cap (1) from the positive battery cable at the generator.
- Remove the positive battery cable to generator mounting nut (2), and remove the positive cable from the generator.
- Release the positive cable from the retaining clip (3).
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Release the retaining clips (1) securing cable to bracket.
- Remove the fasteners (1) for the wire harness retaining clips.
- Release the protective cover (1a) and remove the positive battery cable to starter mounting nut (2), and remove the positive cable from the starter (1b).
- Remove the positive battery cable (3) from the vehicle.
