1.3L Negative Battery Cable: Installation

  1. If removed, install the battery thermal protection (3a).
  2. Install the battery (2).
  3. Install the retaining strap and bracket (1b) on the battery, then install and tighten the bracket nut (1a) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  4. Connect the battery positive terminal (2b) with the BDU, then securely tighten the nut (2a) of the positive terminal (2b).
  5. Position the plate (1b) and securely tighten the screws (1a).

  6. Position the BDU cover (1b) on the BDU, then engage the retainers (1a).

  7. Connect the negative battery cable terminal with the IBS (2b) to the negative post of the battery and securely tighten the nut (2a).
  8. Install and secure the negative battery cable (1b) to the negative terminal pole (1c). Make certain the retainer (1a) is fully engaged.
