Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the front wiper cowl. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, REMOVAL .

  4. Remove the stabilizer bar link to strut nut (1a) and the stabilizer bar link from the strut.

  5. Remove the retaining clip (1) and remove the brake hose (1) from the strut.
  6. Remove the wheel speed sensor wire harness (2) from the strut.
  7. Remove the strut to knuckle nuts (3) and bolts.

  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Remove the strut to body bolts (1).

  10. Remove the strut (1) from the vehicle.

  11. Position the strut assembly (1b) in the strut compressor and compress the spring.
  12. Remove the strut rod to strut mount nut (1a) by using (special tool #2027800020, Kit, Remover - Installer Shock / Strut).

  13. Remove the strut (1) from the spring assembly.

  14. Lower the boot and remove the jounce bumper (1).

  15. Remove the boot (1) from the strut.

  16. Remove the lower spring isolator (1).

  17. Remove the upper spring isolator (1).

  18. If necessary, decompress the spring and remove the spring (1) from the strut compressor.
