Removal And Installation: Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove the front wiper cowl. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, REMOVAL

- Remove the stabilizer bar link to strut nut (1a) and the stabilizer bar link from the strut.
- Remove the retaining clip (1) and remove the brake hose (1) from the strut.
- Remove the wheel speed sensor wire harness (2) from the strut.
- Remove the strut to knuckle nuts (3) and bolts.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the strut to body bolts (1).
- Remove the strut (1) from the vehicle.
- Position the strut assembly (1b) in the strut compressor and compress the spring.
- Remove the strut rod to strut mount nut (1a) by using (special tool #2027800020, Kit, Remover - Installer Shock / Strut).
- Remove the strut (1) from the spring assembly.
- Lower the boot and remove the jounce bumper (1).
- Remove the boot (1) from the strut.
- Remove the lower spring isolator (1).
- Remove the upper spring isolator (1).
- If necessary, decompress the spring and remove the spring (1) from the strut compressor.
