Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR ANY SERVICE BULLETINS OR PCM SOFTWARE UPDATES
- Check for any applicable Service Bulletins or Flash updates related to the DTC.
Are there any applicable Service Bulletins or Flash updates?
Yes
- Perform the applicable repair.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 2
- Check for any applicable Service Bulletins or Flash updates related to the DTC.
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.
Are any other DTCs present?
Yes
- Diagnose any other Camshaft Position Sensor DTCs before continuing.
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
Are there any other PCM DTCs active or pending for the MAP, TPS, VVA, or Temperature Sensors?
Yes
- Perform the applicable diagnostic procedure(s). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Go To 4
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
- CHECK RELATED WIRING AND CONNECTORS FOR DAMAGE AND PROPER FIT
- The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time.NOTE:
Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary. Poor pin to terminal connections can set DTCs. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this DTC. Wiggle the wires while checking for shorts and open circuits.
NOTE:Check for any Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- The condition that caused this DTC to set is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring harness for a possible intermittent condition.
- The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time.
