Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR ANY SERVICE BULLETINS OR PCM SOFTWARE UPDATES 
    1. Check for any applicable Service Bulletins or Flash updates related to the DTC.

      Are there any applicable Service Bulletins or Flash updates?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  2
  2. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.

      Are any other DTCs present?

      Yes 

      • Diagnose any other Camshaft Position Sensor DTCs before continuing.

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS 
    1. Refer to the recorded DTCs.

      Are there any other PCM DTCs active or pending for the MAP, TPS, VVA, or Temperature Sensors?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK RELATED WIRING AND CONNECTORS FOR DAMAGE AND PROPER FIT 
    1. The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time.
      NOTE:

      Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary. Poor pin to terminal connections can set DTCs. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this DTC. Wiggle the wires while checking for shorts and open circuits.

      NOTE:

      Check for any Service Bulletins that may apply.

      Were there any problems found?

      Yes 

      No 

      • The condition that caused this DTC to set is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring harness for a possible intermittent condition.
