Removal And Installation: AWD: Removal

- Remove the bolt (1) securing the steering column to the steering gear and disengage the shaft.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove the right front splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL .
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .
- Remove the right halfshaft. Refer to FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
or REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Remove the bolts (1) securing the right lower load beam extension to the front end.
- On both sides, remove the nut (1) and the bolts (2) securing the pedestrian impact crossmember and remove the pedestrian impact crossmember.
- Holding the stem of the link, remove the nut (1) and the right stabilizer bar link from the shock.
- On the left side, proceed similarly to disconnect the stabilizer bar link.
- Remove the rear exhaust pipe bracket bolts (1).
- Loosen the clamp (2) and the muffler pipe.
- Remove the front exhaust pipe support bracket bolts (1).
- Unscrew the exhaust pipe support bracket bolt (2).
- Remove and DISCARD the nuts (3) and disengage the exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter.
- Remove the gasket.
- Place a suitable hydraulic lift (1) under the transmission as shown in the figure.
- Remove the rear engine mount isolator to bracket bolt (1).
- Place a suitable hydraulic lift under the front suspension crossmember.
- Remove the suspension crossmember rear bolts.
- Remove and DISCARD
the left and right side front suspension crossmember to body bolts (1).
- Using the hydraulic lift, lower the front suspension crossmember and remove the exhaust pipe (1) with front flexible pipe.
