WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Jeep Renegade. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING:

The A/C system contains refrigerant under high pressure. Repairs should only be performed by qualified service personnel. Serious or fatal injury may result from improper service procedures.

  7. Remove the other A/C expansion valve to the A/C evaporator screw (1a), using the threaded rod (1c) to hold the fastener plate (1b) behind it in position.
    NOTE:

Make sure that the plate (1b) remains in position so that the expansion valve can be assembled correctly. Using just the threaded rod, it is not possible to reposition the plate (1b) if it turns out of position.

  8. Remove the A/C expansion valve from the A/C evaporator. Remove and discard the O-ring seals (3a).
  9. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the evaporator and expansion valve ports.
