Description And Operation: Operation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Jeep Renegade. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The oil pressure sensor uses three circuits. They are:
- A signal return circuit to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- A sensor ground circuit through the PCM.
- A 5 volt reference circuit from the PCM.
The input to the PCM occurs on the signal return circuit. Ground for the sensor is supplied by the PCM. The oil pressure sensor returns a voltage signal back to the PCM relating oil pressure. The zero pressure reading is 0.5 volt and full scale is 4.5 volt.
