Description And Operation

- The engine oil pump is integrated with the engine balance shafts to form the balance shaft/oil pump assembly (2) which is sometimes referred to as the Balance Shaft Module (BSM).
- The balance shaft/oil pump assembly is mounted to the bottom of the ladder frame and is chain driven from the front of the crankshaft.
- The oil pump cannot be disassembled for inspection.
- The pressure relief valve is serviceable and can be removed and inspected.
- The balance shaft/oil pump assembly can be identified by the plastic end caps (1).
