Cylinder Head: Inspection

NOTE:

Typical Cylinder Head shown.

  1. Check the flatness of the cylinder head gasket surface with a straight edge (2) and a feeler gauge (1).
  2. The cylinder head must be flat within specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Remove any carbon or varnish deposits from inside of valve guides with a reliable guide cleaner.
  4. Inspect the following components and verify that they are within specification

    Refer to SPECIFICATIONS  .

    • Valve Springs
    • Valve Seats
    • Valve Guides
    • Valves
