Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .

  2. Disengage the wire harness retainer (2) from the air cleaner body.
  3. Lift the air cleaner body (1) straight up to disengage the ball stud mounts from the rubber mount sockets.
  4. Release the tabs (3) from the intake air tube and remove the air cleaner body (1) from the vehicle.

  5. If required, recover the rubber mount socket from the bottom of the air cleaner body and reinstall it to the right engine mount (1).
    NOTE:

    Follow the remaining steps to remove the intake air tube from the vehicle, if required.

  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  7. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  8. Remove the retainers and the access panel (1).

  9. Rotate the resonator (1) 1/4 turn and remove the resonator from the intake air tube.

  10. Remove the nut (1) securing the intake air tube and remove the air tube from the vehicle.
