Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and the vacuum pump. Install a new vacuum pump gasket.
  2. Align the pump drive tab with the pump drive slot located on the cam shaft.
  3. Install the vacuum pump bolts and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Install the powertrain control module (PCM). Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), INSTALLATION .
  5. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
  7. Run the engine and check the vacuum pump for proper operation.
