Cable, Release: Removal

  1. Move the rear seat to the folded forward position.
    NOTE:

    Take note of the cable routing (1), for proper installation.

  2. Unclip the cable from the seat bracket (2).
  3. Remove the cable end (3) from the release mechanism.

  4. Using a small hook tool (2), hook the handle clip and pull the toll forward to release it. Pull the handle (1) from the seat while pulling the hook tool forward.

  5. This shows the backside of the handle. Using a hook tool (1) to pull the clip (2) forward.

  6. Starting at the rear of the side cover (1), pull out to release it then slide it rearward off the hook at the front (2).

  7. Lay a shop towel (3) under the release cable (1) to catch any metal shavings.
    NOTE:

    Measure the NEW rivets supplied with the repair kit, make sure to use the correct drill size.

  8. Drill out the rivets (2) and remove the release cable from the seat.
  9. Remove any rivet remains from the seat frame.
  10. Unclip the cable from the seat frame, cut any zip-ties and remove.
