Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Ignition on, engine not running.
    2. With the scan tool, record any environmental data and record all DTCs on the repair order.
    3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Is this DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT DTC .
  2. CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS 
    1. Refer to the recorded DTCs.
      NOTE:

      If there any DTCs present, perform the Diagnostics for those DTCs before continuing with this one.

      NOTE:

      If is present, perform the Diagnostics for those DTCs before continuing with this one.

      Is DTC U02A2-00 present or are there any Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor or Coolant Temperature Sensor DTCs active or pending?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE DEF QUALITY SENSOR HARNESS CONNECTOR FOR DAMAGE 
    1. Turn ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the DEF Quality Sensor harness connector.
      NOTE:

      Check connectors for corrosion or foreign materials- Clean/repair as necessary.

      Are there dirty or damaged pins?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Replace the DEF Quality Sensor in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
