The MAF/Intake Air Sensor is a multi-function device that monitors several conditions related to Air Intake. Along with Mass Air Flow, this 8-pin Sensor also checks Intake Air Temperature, Humidity, and Inlet Air Pressure. The MAF/Intake Air Sensor reports these conditions back to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM will light the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) immediately after this diagnostic runs and fails. The PCM will turn off the MIL when the diagnostic runs and passes in four consecutive drive cycles.
