Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR TCM CAN BUS DTCS
1. With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
  Are any TCM CAN bus DTCs present?
  
  Yes
  - Repair TCM CAN bus DTCs in accordance with the Service Information. If DTC U0001-CAN C BUS is set, perform that diagnostic first. Refer to 8HP45/845RE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 2
CHECK IF PCM DTCS ARE PRESENT
1. With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.
  Are any PCM DTCs present?
  
  Yes
  - Repair PCM DTCs in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to DTC INDEX .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module (TCM) terminals for corrosion, damage, and pushed out terminals. Pay particular attention to the power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the TCM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL, MODULE PROGRAMMING .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
