Shifter, Transmission: Installation
The shifter (04670682AG) has to be a coordinated change with the PRNDM (68286830AD, 68286828AD, 68253107AC, 68253112AC). You cannot mix stock between new shifter NIK (04670682AG-on) & old PRNDM NIK (68286830AC, 68286828AC, 68253107AB, 68253112AB) or old shifter NIK (04670682AA-AF) & new PRNDM NIK (68286830AD, 68286828AD, 68253107AC, 68253112AC). If a mix occurs, upon first power-up of the shifter over CAN, there will be a 2 1/2 minute pause where the shifter will not be responsive and the PRNDM will not be lit the first time the shifter is awake over CAN. This will only happen once due to the shifter flashing/updating the PRNDM to the matching (PRNDM TO SHIFTER) software version.
To prevent a possible Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC), do not connect the battery negative cable until all electrical connections are made on the shifter assembly.
- Position the gear shifter in the vehicle and install the front two bolts (2).

- Position the gear shifter bezel in the vehicle and connect the PRNDM indicator (1) wire harness connector (2).
- Connect the gear shifter wire harness connector.
- Connect the wire harness connector (1) under the cup holder (2).
