Clutch E Assembly

1. Wave plate
2. Friction plate
3. Backing plate
4. Steel plate
NOTE:

If clutch discs are being replaced, soak in 8HP trans fluid before assembly.

  1. Install the E-clutch (1) seal (2) and O-ring (3).

  2. Install the belleville (2) spring into the E-clutch hub (1).

  3. Install the clutch pack thrust plate (1).

  4. Install the clutch pack frictions and steels (1).

  5. Install the wave washer (1) last.

  6. Install the E-clutch piston (1) onto the hub.

  7. Install the E-clutch piston support (1).

  8. Place the E-clutch in a suitable arbor press.
  9. Using Pressing Tool 8901A (special tool #8901A, Pressing Tool) compress the E-clutch enough to install the snap ring.
