Left Exhaust Manifold

  1. Clean the sealing surfaces of the exhaust manifold and cylinder head.
  2. Using a NEW exhaust manifold gasket (1), position the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head.

  3. First install the NEW exhaust manifold retaining bolts finger tight.
  4. Using the sequence shown, tighten the retaining bolts to the proper (Torque Specifications).
  5. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield and tighten the fasteners (1) to the proper (Torque Specifications) .

  6. Remove the tape or plugs from the opened refrigerant line fittings.
  7. Lubricate the NEW seals with clean refrigerant oil and install them on the refrigerant line fittings. Use only the specified seals as they are made of a special material for the refrigerant used in the system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  8. Install the A/C suction and liquid lines to the jumper line assembly and tighten the nuts (1) to the proper (Torque Specifications) .

  9. Install the left side ignition coils. Refer to COIL, IGNITION .
  10. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC .
  11. Install the front skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, FRONT .
  12. Connect the negative battery cable.
  13. Charge the refrigerant system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  14. Start the engine and check for leaks.
