TENSIONER, Engine Timing: Installation

  1. Install the left timing chain tensioner (3). Tighten the bolts (1) to 11 N.m (8 ft. lbs.).

  2. Install the right timing chain tensioner (3). Tighten the bolts (1) to 11 N.m (8 ft. lbs.).
  3. Remove both Tensioner Pins (special tool #VM.10359A, Pin, Tensioner) (2).
  4. Install the lower timing cover. Refer to COVER(S), ENGINE TIMING, INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. Start the engine and inspect for leaks.
