Adapter, Oil Cooler: Installation

- Clean the gasket sealing surfaces. Refer to ENGINE GASKET SURFACE PREPARATION .
- Install a NEW
O-ring seal (1).
- If a NEW
oil cooler adapter is being installed, install the support bracket (3) and tighten the bolts (1) finger tight.
- Install the oil cooler adapter (1). Tighten the bolts (2) 30 N.m (22 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the oil cooler adapter bracket (3) bolts (1) to 15 N.m (11 ft. lbs.).
- Install the A/C compressor bracket (1). Tighten the bolts (2) 45 N.m (33 ft. lbs.).
- Install the A/C compressor. Refer to COMPRESSOR, A/C, INSTALLATION
.NOTE:
Oil temperature sensor removed for clarity.
- Connect the coolant hose (1) onto the oil cooler adapter.
- Connect the oil pressure sensor wire harness connector (2).
- Connect the oil temperature sensor wire harness connector (2).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install the front skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, TRANSFER CASE, INSTALLATION .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Change the oil filter and fill the engine with recommended engine oil. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the air cleaner body and air tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
- Install the cowl extension silencer (1) and the side extensions (2, 5). Refer to SILENCER, COWL EXTENSION, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
- Install the engine cover (1).
