Seal, Crankshaft Oil, Rear: Installation

- Clean the seal surface area.
- Lubricate the lip of the rear crankshaft oil seal with clean engine oil.NOTE:
Install the rear crankshaft oil seal so that the lip of seal faces away from the engine.
- Install the (special tool #VM.10341-1, Guide, Rear Seal) (3) and slide the rear crankshaft oil seal (2) onto the crankshaft.
- Remove the (special tool #VM.10341-1, Guide, Rear Seal) (3).NOTE:
Position the flat portion of the Rear Seal Installer should be facing down giving you clearance by the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) boss.
- Using the (special tool #VM.10341-2, Installer Tool, Rear Seal) (1) install the rear crankshaft oil seal into the engine block.
- Clean the area and bore around CKP.
- Install the CKP (2). Tighten the bolt (1) to 6 N.m (53 in. lbs.).
- Install the tone wheel (3), counter weight, and flex plate. Refer to FLEXPLATE, INSTALLATION .
