Engine Block: FLEXPLATE: Removal

Remove the transmission. Refer to appropriate service information.
Paint mark the flex plate hub to flex plate relation.
Remove the bolts (1) and the flex plate (3).
CAUTION:
Do not use an impact socket or a thick walled socket when removing or installing the flexplate retaining bolts, damage to the crankshaft, internal engine or the transmission may occur.
If necessary, remove the counter weight (4) and the tone wheel (5).
Inspect the flex plate for damage.
