Lifter(S), Hydraulic: Inspection

- Clean each lifter assembly in cleaning solvent to remove all varnish and sludge deposits. Inspect for indications of scuffing on the side and base of each lifter body (2).
- Squeeze the lifter and be sure that the spring returns the lifter to its correct position.
- Inspect the rocker arm (1) roller for damage or excessive wear.
- Replace any worn or damaged components.
