Retainer, Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal: Installation

NOTE:
The crankshaft rear oil seal is integral to the crankshaft rear oil seal retainer and must be replaced as an assembly.
NOTE:
The crankshaft rear oil seal retainer can not be reused after removal.
- Thoroughly clean all gasket residue from the engine block.
- Position the gasket onto the new crankshaft rear oil seal retainer.
- Position the crankshaft rear oil seal retainer onto the engine block.
- Using the sequence shown, install the crankshaft rear oil seal retainer mounting bolts and tighten to 15 N.m (11 ft. lbs.).
- Install the oil pan. Refer to PAN, OIL .
- Install the flexplate (1). Refer to FLEXPLATE, INSTALLATION .
- Install the transmission (Refer to the appropriate service information).
- Fill the crankcase with the specified type and amount of engine oil. Refer to OIL .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
