Solenoid, Fuel Quantity: Removal
WARNING:
No sparks, open flames or smoking. Risk of poisoning from inhaling and swallowing fuel. Risk of injury to eyes and skin from contact with fuel. Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the bolts (2) the fuel injection pump blocker plate (1).
- Disconnect the fuel quantity solenoid wiring harness connector (3).
- Clean the surrounding area around the fuel quantity solenoid (1) of dirt or debris and place a lint free cloth or drip tray under fuel injection pump to absorb/catch escaping fuel.
- Remove the fasteners (2) and the fuel quantity solenoid (1).
- Install a protective cap over the opening.
