Input And Planetary Gear

- Remove front input retainer (1) attaching bolts (3).
1 - INPUT RETAINER 2 - INPUT GEAR 3 - SNAP-RING - Remove the input gear (2) seal with a suitable screw and slide hammer.
- Remove the input gear snap-ring (3) from the input retainer (1).
1 - INPUT RETAINER 2 - INPUT GEAR - Remove the input gear (2) from the input gear bearing with suitable hammer.
1 - INPUT RETAINER 2 - FRONT CASE HALF - Remove front input retainer (1).
1 - LOW RANGE PLANETARY 2 - PLASTIC SPACER - Remove the low range planetary (1) plastic spacer (2) from the planetary carrier or back side of the input retainer.
1 - FRONT CASE HALF 2 - LOW RANGE PLANETARY 3 - ANNULUS GEAR - Remove the low range planetary gear set (2) from the front case half (1).
1 - FRONT CASE HALF 2 - ANNULUS GEAR - Remove the annulus gear (2) from the front case half (1).
1 - INPUT RETAINER 2 - CUP 8148 3 - INPUT GEAR BEARING - Support the input retainer (1) on Cup (special tool #8148, Cup) (2) as shown.
1 - INPUT RETAINER 2 - CUP 8148 3 - INPUT GEAR BEARING - While using suitable snap-ring pliers to spread the input gear bearing snap-ring, press downward on the retainer (1) to remove the bearing (3).
1 - UNIVERSAL HANDLE C-4171 2 - INSTALLER 8239 - Remove the front output shaft bearing with Universal Handle (special tool #C-4171, Driver Handle, Universal) (1) and Installer (special tool #8239, Installer, Bushing) (2).
1 - REAR CASE HALF 2 - UNIVERSAL HANDLE C-4171 3 - INSTALLER 8239 - Remove the rear output shaft bearing with Universal Handle (special tool #C-4171, Driver Handle, Universal) (2) and Installer (special tool #8239, Installer, Bushing) (3).
