Diagnosis And Testing - Power Sunroof Switch

- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the overhead console from the headliner. Refer to CONSOLE, OVERHEAD, FRONT, REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the overhead wire harness connector from the overhead console connector receptacle.
- Using a multimeter, test the continuity between the terminals of the overhead console connector receptacle while actuating the power sunroof switch as shown in the Sunroof Switch Tests table.
SUNROOF SWITCH TESTS SWITCH POSITION CONTINUITY BETWEEN PINS NO BUTTONS PRESSED (OFF) NO CONTINUITY BETWEEN PINS 7, 8 or 9 and PIN 10 AUTO (OPEN) 7 and 10 AUTO (CLOSE) 9 and 10 VENT 8 and 10 - If the switch fails any of the tests, replace the overhead console and the switch as a unit.
