Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
NOTE:
Vented seats must remain OFF during this test.
1. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
2. Record the Environmental Data.
3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
4. Start the engine.
5. Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
6. With the scan tool, read CSWM DTCs.
  Is the same DTC active?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
CHECK THE (P921) LEFT FRONT SEAT VENT RETURN CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the CSWM C5 harness connector.
3. Start the engine.
4. Measure the voltage between ground and the (P921) Left Front Seat Vent Return circuit at the CSWM C5 harness connector.
  Is the voltage 5.0 volts or above?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the (P921) Left Front Seat Vent Return circuit for a short to voltage.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 3
CHECK THE (P921) LEFT FRONT SEAT VENT RETURN CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO ANOTHER CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Left Front Seat Cushion Vent Motor harness connector.
3. Disconnect the Left Front Seat Back Vent Motor harness connector.
4. Check for continuity between the (P921) Left Front Seat Vent Return circuit and all other circuits in the CSWM C5 harness connector.
  Is there continuity between the (P921) Left Front Seat Vent Return circuit and any other circuit?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the (P921) Left Front Seat Vent Return circuit for a short to another circuit.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 4
CHECK THE VOLTAGE OF THE (P921) LEFT FRONT SEAT VENT CONTROL CIRCUIT AT BOTH LEFT FRONT SEAT VENT MOTOR HARNESS CONNECTORS
1. Reconnect the CSWM C5 harness connectors.
2. Start the engine.
3. Measure the voltage of the (P921) Left Front Seat Vent Control circuit at the Left Front Seat Cushion Vent Motor and the Left Front Seat Back Vent Motor harness connectors (harness side).
  Is the voltage 5.0 volts or above for either measurement?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Comfort Seat Wheel Module (CSWM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, COMFORT SEAT AND WHEEL (CSWM), REMOVAL .
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Replace the Left Front Seat Vent Motors in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MOTOR, VENTED SEAT, REMOVAL .
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
