Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS
1. Refer to the recorded DTCs.
  Are there any Vehicle Speed Sensor DTCs active or pending?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the applicable diagnostic procedure(s). Refer to 3.2L - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
  No
  - Go To 2
CHECK THE VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
1. Test drive the vehicle.
2. Perform several stop and go events.
3. With the scan tool, monitor the vehicle speed signal input.
  Does the vehicle speed drop to zero and hold consistently when the vehicle is stopped?
  
  Yes
  - Check for the hood being properly secured.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST, 3.2L .
  No
  - Diagnose the faulty vehicle speed input. Check for any Service Bulletins that may apply.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST, 3.2L .
