Switch, Electric Park Brake: Removal

CAUTION:
If the Electric Park Brake (EPB) switch is actuated with the caliper removed from the caliper bracket and still connected electrically, the EPB motor will fully extend causing damage to the caliper piston. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable before servicing any EPB component.
NOTE:
If the EPB switch is removed while power is still applied to the vehicle, it will set a general switch fault (DTC) in the EPB module. The EPB switch is monitored by the EPB module to confirm it's availability at all times.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the shift bezel (4). Refer to BEZEL, SHIFTER, REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the EPB switch (3).
- Remove the screws (2) from the EPB switch.
