Pedal(S), Brake And/Or Accelerator: Removal: Removal-LHD

NOTE:

Before proceeding. Refer to CAUTION and refer to WARNING .

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

Remove the intermediate shaft coupling bolt (3) and separate the intermediate shaft (1) at the base of the column from the steering gear pinion shaft (2). DISCARD the intermediate shaft coupling bolt (3), it is not to be reused.
Position the intermediate shaft (1) so that the pedal assembly can be accessed.

Remove the stop lamp switch (2). Refer to SWITCH, STOP LAMP, REMOVAL .
Disconnect accelerator pedal electrical connector (3).

Disengage clips (1) on booster rod keeper assembly retainer (2). Position retainer (2) up to remove booster rod from pedal assembly.
Disconnect the clutch safety switch electrical connector and disengage clutch rod from clutch pedal, if equipped. Refer to PEDAL AND PAD, CLUTCH, REMOVAL.
Remove the four nuts (1) attaching the brake pedal sled (and power brake booster) to the dash panel.

Remove the remaining two nuts (1, 4) attaching the brake pedal sled to the dash panel.
Remove the brake pedal and bracket assembly from vehicle.
