Pads, Brake, Rear: Installation

- Before installing the brake pads, apply WOLFRACOAT® C (1) or equivalent lubricant to the abutment clips as shown in illustration.NOTE:
WOLFRACOAT® C or equivalent lubricant must be applied to prevent noise.
- Install the pads (2), (3) to the caliper adapter bracket making sure the wear indicators are on the bottom side opposite of the bleeder screw.CAUTION:
Use care when installing the caliper onto the disc brake adapter to avoid damaging the guide pin boots.
CAUTION:Use care not to damage the caliper's piston boot while servicing the brakes.
- Align the caliper guide pin bolt holes with the adapter bracket. Install the rear caliper bolts (3) and tighten to the proper torque. Refer to TORQUE
.
- Install the brake line bracket and nut (2).
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Pump the brake pedal several times to ensure the vehicle has a firm brake pedal before moving the vehicle.
- Exit the service mode prior to road testing the vehicle. This can be done in two ways:
- Exit the service mode with diagnostic scan tool.
- While depressing the brake pedal, press the Electric Park Brake (EPB) switch.
- Road test the vehicle and make several stops to wear off any foreign material on the brakes and to seat the brake pads.
