Caliper, Disc Brake, Front: Installation

CAUTION:
Use care when installing the caliper onto the adapter bracket to avoid damaging the guide pin boots.
CAUTION:
Use care not to damage the caliper's piston boot while servicing the brakes.
- Completely retract the caliper piston back into the bore of the caliper. Use a suitable tool to retract the piston.
- Install the disc brake caliper over the brake pads on the brake caliper adapter bracket.
- Align the caliper guide pin bolt holes with the adapter bracket. Install the front caliper bolts (4) and tighten to the proper torque. Refer to TORQUE .
- Install the front brake hose to caliper (1) and tighten to the proper torque. Refer to TORQUE

- Install brake hose fitting to brake line connector (2) and tighten to the proper torque. Refer to TORQUE .
- Install brake hose to mounting location on strut (1) and secure with the clip.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Remove the brake pedal holding tool.
- Bleed the caliper as necessary. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - BASE BRAKE BLEEDING .
- Road test the vehicle and make several stops to wear off any foreign material on the brakes and to seat the brake pads.
