Arm, Wiper: Installation: Front

NOTE:
Make sure the wiper motor is in the park position before installing the wiper arms. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, then move the right multifunction switch control knob to the front wiper OFF position. If the wiper pivots move, wait until they stop moving, then turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. The wiper motor is now in the park position.
- Wiper arm (2) is longer, and positioned on the passenger side of the vehicle. Wiper arm (4) is shorter, and positioned on the driver side of the vehicle.
- Position the longer wiper arm onto the pivot shaft so that the wiper blade is aligned within the alignment marks (1) on the windshield.
- With the wiper arm properly indexed, lift the wiper arm away from the windshield slightly to relieve the spring tension on the pivot end and push the pivot end of the wiper arm down firmly and evenly over the pivot shaft.
- Install and tighten the front wiper arm nut to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Position the shorter wiper arm onto the pivot shaft so that the wiper blade is aligned with the small alignment window (3) on the windshield.
- With the wiper arm properly indexed, lift the wiper arm away from the windshield slightly to relieve the spring tension on the pivot end and push the pivot end of the wiper arm down firmly and evenly over the pivot shaft.
- Install and tighten the front wiper arm nut to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Wet the windshield glass then operate the front wipers. Turn the wiper switch to the OFF position, then check that the wipers align with the alignment marks on the windshield. If they are not aligned properly, repeat the alignment process.
- Install the plastic caps.
