Diagnostic Test

  1. VERIFY OPERATION OF THE RADIO AND BACKUP LAMPS 
    1. Verify the operation of the Radio and Backup Lamps.

      Do the Radio and Backup Lamps operate correctly?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Diagnose any problems with the Radio and Backup Lamps.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK THE (F923) FUSED IGNITION RUN CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Apply the parking brake.
    3. Disconnect the Rear Camera Assembly harness connector.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. Shift the vehicle in to reverse.
    6. Measure the voltage of the (F923) Fused Ignition Run circuit.

      Is battery voltage present?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

      • Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, repair the (F923) Fused Ignition Run circuit for an open.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  3. CHECK THE (Z923) GROUND CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (Z923) Ground circuit.

      Is the resistance below 10.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4

      No 

      • Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, repair the (Z923) Ground Circuit for an open.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  4. CHECK THE CAMERA SIGNAL, RETURN, AND SHIELD CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the Radio C3 harness connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the (X970) (X971) and (X972) circuits.

      Is the resistance below 10.0 Ohms on the (X970) (X971) or (X972) circuits?

      Yes 

      • Go To  5

      No 

      • Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, repair the appropriate circuit for an open.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  5. CHECK THE CAMERA SIGNAL, RETURN, AND SHIELD CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (X970) (X971) and (X972) circuits.

      Is the resistance below 10.0 Ohms on the (X970) (X971) or (X972) circuits?

      Yes 

      • Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, repair the appropriate circuit for a short to ground.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Replace the Rear Camera Assembly in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
