2.2L Diesel Low Pressure EGR Valve

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to the appropriate service article .

  3. Loosen the clamps (2, 5) and remove the air cleaner outlet tube.

  4. Disconnect the low pressure EGR valve wire harness connector (1).
  5. Disconnect the EGR temperature sensor wire harness connector (2).

  6. Loosen the bottom clamp on the low pressure EGR air flow control valve (1).
  7. Remove the low pressure EGR valve bolt (2).

  8. Remove the bolts (1a) and the low pressure EGR valve (1b) disengaging it from the sleeve to the turbocharger.

  9. If necessary, remove the bolts (1) and the low pressure EGR valve mounting bracket (2).
