Breather, Closed Crankcase Ventilation (CCV): Installation

  1. Lubricate the CCV O-ring seal (1).

  2. Lubricate the O-ring seals (2) onto lower CCV tube (1).
  3. Install the lower CCV tube into the oil pan and tighten the bolt finger tight.

  4. Install the CCV housing into engine block. Tighten the bolt (1) to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install the starter (2). Refer to STARTER, INSTALLATION .

  6. Tighten the lower CCV tube bolt (2) to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Connect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor wire harness connector (1).

  8. Connect the CCV hose (2) to the CCV housing (4). Using the (special tool #10288, Pliers, Hose Clamp) (1), install the clamp.
  9. Install the right front half shaft. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the engine cover. Refer to the appropriate service article .
  11. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
