The TPM Sensors are self monitoring for internal mechanical faults (i.e. pressure sensor failure) and will send a mechanical failure message to the Remote Frequency Hub (RF Hub) Module if an internal sensor fault is detected. In the event a sensor is not able to transmit this message to the RF Hub a "No Signal" DTC will be logged after 20 cumulative minutes of driving above 15 mph. When the Mechanical Failure fault is active or is stored with several occurrences, the sensor should be replaced. The RF Hub records the TPM sensor IDs; and the 'mechanical failure' DTCs associated with them when set. The TPM-RKE tool is used to locate those IDs on the vehicle, since the location of the IDs in the RF Hub may not be correct.
