Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
NOTE:
Verify that the battery is fully charged with a DVOM and use the scan tool to compare the Battery Voltage listed under "Data" in the RFH View to that of the BCM. If the battery is not fully charged, correct this condition before proceeding.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off and wait 30 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on and attempt to start the engine.
- If the engine started, wait 10 seconds then Turn the ignition off.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- If equipped with a Keyless Ignition Node (KIN), replace it in accordance with Service Information. Refer to MODULE, KEYLESS IGNITION NODE (KIN), REMOVAL .
- If equipped with an Ignition Node Module (IGNM), replace it in accordance with Service Information. Refer to MODULE, IGNITION NODE, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete. If the DTC ever repeats, replace the Keyless Ignition Node (KIN) or the Ignition Module (IGNM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, KEYLESS IGNITION NODE (KIN), REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
