Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
  Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE RUN/START RELAY FOR CORRECT OPERATION
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Replace the Run/Start Relay with a known good relay.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
  Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 3
  No
  - Replace the Run/Start Relay.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE (Z909) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Remove the Run/Start Relay from the PDC.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (Z909) Ground circuit at the Run/Start Relay cavity in the PDC.
  Is the resistance above 3.0 Ohms?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the (Z909) Ground circuit for an open circuit.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 4
CHECK THE (K617) RUN/START RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Measure the voltage of the (K617) Run/Start Relay circuit at the Run/Start Relay cavity in the PDC.
  Is voltage present?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the (K617) Run/Start Relay circuit for a short to voltage.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 5
CHECK THE (K617) RUN/START RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance of the (K617) Run/Start Relay circuit between the BCM C4 harness connector and the Run/Start Relay cavity in the PDC.
  Is the resistance above 3.0 Ohms?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the (K617) Run/Start Relay circuit for an open circuit.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Replace the Body Control Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL (BCM), REMOVAL .
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
