Actuator, Axle Shaft: Installation

Clean mating surfaces.
Install new gasket if necessary.

Position actuator (1) onto housing (2), ensure the shift fork engages the sliding collar grooves.
NOTE:
If replacing the actuator, check to make sure the two locating dowel pins are removed from the rear Axle Differential housing, the locating dowels come pre-installed in the actuator.

NOTE:
Do not reuse the actuator mounting screws.
Install new actuator retaining fasteners (1) and tighten to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
Install the Rear Axle Differential into vehicle. Refer to INSTALLATION .
Check and add fluid as necessary. Refer to FLUID, DIFFERENTIAL, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
