Integrated Control Unit (ICU): Installation

If removed, place the Integrated Control Unit (ICU) bracket into position on body, then install Integrated Control Unit (ICU) mounting bracket screws and tighten to the proper. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Install the ICU (4) to mounting bracket, then install the Integrated Control Unit (ICU) mounting nuts (2) and tighten to the proper. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Install the brake lines to the ICU.
Install the brake tube nuts to Integrated Control Unit (ICU) (1, 5) and tighten to the proper. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Install the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module wire harness connector (3) to the ICU (4).

Install the PDC mount, route the wire harness retaining clips under the mount and install and tighten the bolts (2).

Install the PDC (2). Refer to CENTER, POWER DISTRIBUTION (PDC), INSTALLATION .
Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
Remove the brake pedal holding tool.
Install a scan tool to initialize the ABS module and perform the following:
1. Clear any faults.
2. Fill the master cylinder to the proper fill level and bleed the base and hydraulic system. Refer to BASE BRAKE BLEEDING .
Perform the verification test and clear any faults. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI configuration alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
