Integrated Control Unit (ICU): Description
The Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) and the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module used with this system are combined (integrated) into one unit, which is called the Integrated Control Unit (ICU) (4).
The ICU (4) is located in the engine compartment, mounted to the left side body frame rail near the brake master cylinder.
The ABS with ESC and all-speed traction control ICU consists of the following components: the ABS module, solenoid valves, traction control solenoid valves, hydraulic shuttle valves, valve block, fluid accumulators, a pump, and an electric pump/motor.
The ICU can be disassembled to service either the HCU or the ABS module. The HCU and the ABS module (ICU) should be removed from the vehicle as an assembly Refer to INTEGRATED CONTROL UNIT (ICU), REMOVAL .
