Compressor, A/C: Description

VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT A/C COMPRESSOR

The variable displacement A/C compressor has a total displacement of 170 cubic centimeters (10.37 cubic inches). The control valve (4) and a high pressure relief valve located near the back cover. The A/C compressor is secured to the engine with three bolts. The suction and discharge lines are mounted to the compressor cylinder block (3). The A/C compressor clutch components (1) provide the means to engage and disengage the A/C compressor from the engine accessory drive belt. When the electromagnetic clutch coil is energized through the wire harness (2), it magnetically draws the clutch plated into contact with the clutch pulley and drives the compressor shaft.
