Actuator, RECIRCULATION Door: Removal

WARNING:

Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

  2. Disconnect the HVAC wiring harness connector and position to the side to gain additional clearance.
  3. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the recirculation door actuator.
  4. Remove the screw (2) that secures the recirculation door actuator to the air inlet housing.
  5. Rotate the recirculation door actuator to disengage it from the retaining clip (3) on the air inlet housing.
  6. Separate the recirculation door actuator from the linkage.
