Manifold, Exhaust: Removal

  1. Remove the engine cover.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  3. Disconnect the upstream and downstream oxygen sensor harness connectors.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  5. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .

  6. Remove the two nuts from the converter outlet flange. Discard the gasket

  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Remove the four upper shield bolts (2).
  9. Remove the upper shield (2).

  10. Remove the exhaust manifold bolts (1).
  11. Remove the manifold out the top of the vehicle.
  12. Remove and discard manifold gasket.
