Pump, Vacuum: Description

The vane-type vacuum pump is mounted to the rear of the cylinder head and is driven by the camshaft. The vacuum pump supplies vacuum to the brake booster. The pump is an aluminum body with a plastic vacuum connector fitting. The vacuum connector fitting is no longer serviceable by itself. If the connector fitting is damaged, the pump must be replaced. No other parts are replaceable in the pump. If the fitting is removed from the pump, the O-ring must be replaced.
